His family is commemorating Matthew Perry’s life and legacy on the one-year anniversary of his passing.

The Friends star’s mother Suzanne Morrison, stepfather Keith Morrison, and his younger sisters Caitlin, Madeline, and Emily Morrison talked candidly about their enduring love for Perry in an exclusive interview with Savannah Guthrie of the Today show from the Canadian town where Perry was raised.

“Even now, something funny will happen — I’ll see something funny or something ridiculous on the news, l go to call him,” Suzanne said.

“My relationship with him is more flexible now than it has ever been. Subsequently, it strikes me so forcefully that he is no longer present.

“We go to the cemetery,” Keith said, “[and Suzanne will] sit there and have a chat with him for awhile.”

Madeline said, “everything,” when asked what she misses most about him, mentioning their “little jokes” together. She said, “He was always there,” Caitlin said, “It was always like a jubilant thing when he would come over.”

After gathering herself, an emotional Emily remarked, “He was grumpy all the time, but he was funny all the time.” “He would do anything for the people he loved when they were successful or afraid.”
