President Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown has saddened Selena Gomez.

The 32-year-old Emilia Perez star posted a tearful video to her Instagram Story on Monday, January 27, along with the words “I’m sorry” and a Mexican flag emoji.”All of my people, including the children, are being attacked. I don’t get it. I apologize; I wish I could do anything, but I am unable to. I have no idea what to do. In the video, Gomez sobbed and stated, “I swear, I’ll do everything I can.”

Gomez posted the following on another Instagram Story: “Apparently it’s not ok to show empathy for people.”

The BBC reported that the “Good for You” singer’s post was made just one day after Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) reported that 956 people had been arrested in a nationwide immigration crackdown, the most since Trump returned to office.

The publication claims that the 956 recorded arrests follow 286 on Saturday, January 25, 593 on Friday, January 24, and 538 on Thursday, January 23.
