The best decision is how Amanda Seyfried describes her decision to leave Hollywood for a more balanced life
The actresses’ New York farm is home to horses, hens, cats, goats, donkeys, ducks, and their 15-year-old dog, Finn.
Amanda Seyfried is sharing why she chose the peaceful life on an East Coast farm over the bright lights of Los Angeles.
The 38-year-old actress told Forbes how she first left Hollywood for New York City when her career was just getting started, and then, still feeling overstimulated by city life, she moved to an Upstate New York farm.
The Mama Mia and Mean Girls star said, “I moved upstate long before I had a family,” and she is now a mother of two. “Staying here was the best decision for privacy, peace and nature,”
She goes on to say, “It offers a more balanced life than the city does,” and that the relocation was “essential for my mental health.”
She told the publication that she can handle “the high-energy of press events and life on-set” when working in show industry because of the peaceful atmosphere of her Catskills farmhouse.
Seyfried’s future projects include the TV series Long Bright River, which premieres in 2025, and the film adaptation of Frieda McFadden’s novel, The Housemaid, which she will co-star in with Sydney Sweeney.
The property is home to horses, hens, cats, goats, donkeys, ducks, and Finn, the actors’ 15-year-old dog. She acknowledges that caring for the creatures is “exhilarating” but also involves a “learning curve.”
