A small pharaoh, just a few days old, was sent to the Helen Woodard Animal Welfare Association (HWAC) in Sacramento some long while ago.

The pup’s owners, who called him Caesar, stated that his parents showed little enthusiasm in nursing the cubs, thus all but one perished of malnutrition.

HWAC workers began bottle-feeding the poor infant, but they realized that his only hope for life was his family’s caring.

Five weeks later, a cat called Bellarina, who had been transported from some other shelter to the HWAC center, became engaged in the kitten.

Bellarina just had three kittens of her own: Bean, Biscuit, and Bunny. Despite this, she joyfully welcomed the tiny Cleopatra, who had been rejected by her mother, into the household.

The cat fell in love with the orphaned infant and began t care for her as if this is her own.

“Bellarina resolved not only to supply Cleo with breastfeeding but also to offer her the affection she so desperately needed,” explains Erin Schmitt, head of the HWAC.

Cleopatra immediately recovered from her foster mother’s care, transforming from a half-dead hairless newborn to an energetic and lively cat.

After the vets have thoroughly examined Cleopatra’s health and neutered her, the entire family will begin looking for a permanent home.
