The Devil Wears Prada will return! Streep and Blunt will return to their starring roles

Disney is finally producing a sequel to The Devil Wears Prada, almost precisely eighteen years after the film’s release. The original writer and potentially the cast will return.

Screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna, who adapted the 2006 picture from Lauren Weisberger’s 2003 novel of the same name, has joined Disney, according to Variety.

Although the return of the original cast has not yet been confirmed, the narrative description suggests that Meryl Streep (as Miranda Priestley) and Emily Blunt (as Emily Charlton) will also be making a cameo.

Only a few days have passed since the first preview performance of a musical adaption starring Vanessa Williams

as Miranda Priestley and brand-new music by Elton John debuted on London’s West End. Now, there is word of a sequel.

Priestley’s career and the current state of traditional magazine publishing will be the focus of the sequel’s narrative.

Priestley is after Charlton’s advertising budget; he claims to be a high-ranking executive for a luxury corporation. She faces him off.

It hasn’t been specified in any of the stories whether Stanley Tucci, Simon Baker, Adrian Grenier, Gisele Bundchen, Tracie Thoms, and Anne Hathaway, who plays Andrea ‘Andy’ Sachs, will be making a comeback.

The original movie was based on Weisberger’s book of the same name, which was partially inspired by her experiences working as chief editor of Vogue Anna Wintour’s assistant.
