Shannen Doherty’s doctor has described her dying moments.
The actress, best known for her appearances in Beverly Hills, 90210, and Charmed, died on July 13 at the age of 53 due to stage IV breast cancer.
She’d been openly fighting the condition since 2020.
Dr. Lawrence D. Piro, the star’s oncologist who treated her at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, has now revealed details of her final hours in an interview with PEOPLE.
Dr. Piro, surrounded by close friends, describes the actress’s death as a poignant and gentle departure.
“In the last few hours, she was in a place where she was very comfortable and sleeping and transitioning, and she was surrounded by some of her very close friends,”
