On Monday, July 8, reports surfaced online that the “Flowers” singer might perform at football’s greatest night next year, which will be held at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.
MLFootball, a popular sports website, originally reported the claims, stating that Cyrus, 31, was “one of the finalists” for the Halftime Show last year before Usher won the contract.
One X fan noted that a prospective performance by the “Wrecking Ball” singer would “change lives,” while others mentioned her 2024 Grammys performance as a preview of the intensity and voice Cyrus may bring to the stage.
Neither Cyrus, 31, nor the NFL have commented on the possible news, despite PEOPLE’s inquiries. Of course, Super Bowl LIX is a long way off, with the football season not starting until September 5.
The Big Game will be place on February 9, 2025.If Cyrus does perform, it will be a significant milestone for the Grammy winner. She told British Vogue in May 2023 that she loves to perform for friends rather than large crowds.
