With the conclusion of the SEAL team series, David Boreanaz is prepared to give his body a break
After the seventh and last season of the military drama, the actor is leaving because he paid attention to his body.
“It moves differently than it did before!” David Boreanaz, a star of the SEAL Team, follows his instincts and listens to his body. He explains to PEOPLE in this week’s issue that the seventh season of the Paramount+ military drama will be his final,
saying, “My body just can’t do it anymore.” He continues, saying that he and the other actors were committed to portraying the tale of elite warriors in the most genuine way imaginable, which involved rigorous training and the filming of extremely physically demanding sequences.
“Shortcuts weren’t available,” states Boreanaz, 55. He remembered having to carry a 250-pound stunt double on his back while directing a sequence. I hit a rock ten feet in, my ankle twists, and I fall face-first. Even though my ankle was becoming bigger, I had to continue.
You can learn how to endure pain from the SEALs – these are guys who have had an arm blown off and are laughing because that’s how they handle it. It is rather intense,” he remarks.
“I take good care of myself, but there comes a point where your body doesn’t move the way it used to,” he says. In the last four months, I believe I’ve had four MRIs for my shoulders, hips, and knees.
