The wickedly talented duo Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo are confirmed to perform live at the 2025 Oscars.
On Monday, Feb. 24, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences confirmed that the Wicked costars will take the stage for a performance at the Academy Awards this Sunday, March 2.
“A spellbinding moment awaits,” the event organizers teased in a social media post, promising a “performance you won’t forget.
Other newly announced performers for the ceremony will be Queen Latifah, plus “three global superstars” Doja Cat, Lisa of BLACKPINK, and Raye for a “show-stopping celebration of cinema.”
Hosted by Conan O’Brien, this year’s Oscars ceremony has ditched live performances of the Best Original Song nominees, the Academy revealed in January.
“This year the Best Original Song category presentation will move away from live performances and will be focused on the songwriters,” read a letter sent to Academy members at the time. “We will celebrate their artistry through personal reflections from the teams who bring these songs to life. All of this, and more, will uncover the stories and inspiration behind this year’s nominees.”
