Children would have to sսffer: Oprah Winfrey on why she decided to be a childfree
Oprah Winfrey knew from a young age that she would not be a mother. As the years passed, her conviction only grew stronger.
Not all people dream of becoming parents. Some believe that they are simply not made for children. Among celebrities there are also childfree. Each of these choices is associated with different reasons.
So, Oprah Winfrey is one of the most famous childfree celebrities. The TV presenter deliberately refused to have children – and there is a good reason for that.
As a child, Oprah was subjected to harsh treatment and violence, as a result of which she became pregnant. Her child did not survive (she had an abortion), and since then, having received a psychological trauma, she vowed to be a mother.
Winfrey focused on a career that has developed brilliantly. In one of the interviews, the TV presenter shared that if she had children, most likely they would hate her.
Why? “Because they would have to suffer a lot,” Oprah noted, suggesting that her children would create their own show in which their mother was harshly condemned.
