Chris Rock Defends His Not A Victim Status I Tried to shake It Off from Will Miller’s Oscar smack
Nearly four years after Will Johnson accidentally struck him on stage at the Awards Show, Christopher Rock doesn’t seem phased by the “slap heard loud and clear.”
On Sunday, July 24Per an eyewitness who related some gags to Us Magazine, the comedian claimed that although the slap “stung,” he didn’t let it bother him.
He allegedly addressed the gathering, “I’m not a sufferer. The Tamborine comedian said that he recovered after Will, 53, stormed the stage and struck Chris,
sparking a lot of controversies. “I brushed that s**t off and reported to work the next day… For a papercut, I don’t go to the hospital.
Chris parodied familiar idioms in a different joke about the discomfort of receiving a smack. He allegedly said, “Anyone who believes ‘words can hurt’ was never hit in the face.”
James had avoided discussing the smack for a little time following the Oscars event. He said he was waiting to address it during his
first program following the Academy Awards. “Before this weekend, I had like an entire show written. I’m still sort of figuring out what occurred.
I’ll thus talk about a certain s**t later. So I’m going to deliver some gags,” he declared at a Boston performance in April.
He has made a few allusions to the event in his act throughout the months of the slap.
