Graduation fаiled? Brooke’s daughter had to wear her old dress
Searching for the perfect prom dress is a timeless—and difficult—high school rite of passage. But if your mother is Brooke Shields, all you have to do is raid her closet.
Shields’ 18-year-old daughter, Rowan Henchy, wore one of her mother’s most iconic red carpet looks on prom night last weekend, leaving the actress nostalgic and proud.

“I thought it was a special night when I was nominated for a Golden Globe and wore this dress in 1998,” Shields, 56, wrote in an Instagram post commemorating the occasion. “You should be proud, mama!”
Shields wore the strapless red gown to accept her second Emmy nomination for her NBC sitcom Suddenly Susan. (Rowan, her child with husband Chris Henchy, was born five years later, in 2003.)

Rowan, on the other hand, customized the gown by ditching the matching wrap and adding a black bag—not to mention a white corsage.
Mom’s excitement was shared by other celebrities: “OH MY GOD, that is SO UNIQUE!!!!!” Debra Messing chimed in. “I recall you wearing that gown that night!” And now your lovely daughter will be able to make new memories with it.”

Shields has spent much of 2021 recovering from a femur fracture suffered in a freak accident in January. “I was on one of those balance boards that I’ve been doing every day,”
she said in February on Today with Hoda & Jenna. “I stupidly switched my focus, flew up in the air, hit perfectly, and snapped my femur.”

“I’ve never screamed like that before,” she told Good Morning America later. “Not even during childbirth.” Thankfully, the Pretty Baby star is on the mend, just in time for those touching prom photos with Rowan.
