Lily Collins’ most recent Instagram photo may provide you all the beauty inspiration you need to brighten yet another gloomy winter day if you’re still feeling down from the holidays.

The 33-year-old Emily in Paris star, who is frequently seen in neutral colors to go with her love of Sixties fashion, chose only a swipe of complexion-enhancing rich fuchsia in a recent selfie. Viva Magenta, the Pantone Color of the Year for 2023, has flooded Bazaar’s beauty inboxes, but it’s Collins’ upbeat lip that ultimately persuades us.

Collins is not unfamiliar with a bold lip, but we wouldn’t be surprised if the most recent episode of Emily in Paris had anything to do with this appearance.

In the first season of the show, Emily rushed through the city of love sporting a variety of scarlet lip colors. Three seasons later, the title character is experimenting a little more with her makeup by sporting a variety of plummy tones and deep berries to reflect Emily’s journey.

Another aspect is the new hairstyle of the title character. The show’s lead makeup artist, Aurelie Payen, told US Weekly in an interview that since Emily’s fringe frames her eyes, “why not play with red and lots of vivid colors, orange, pink, and even really powerful brown hues?”

She is caught between Madeline and Sylvie, who are the French and American opposites but both strong, gorgeous, and courageous women, and has a lot to say and a lot to cope with. Collins’ article made no mention of a particular lipstick,

but because she works as a spokesperson for Lancôme, it’s possible that the L’Absolu Rouge Drama Ink in 502 is it.

For your upcoming Zoom conference, the splash of color on a nearly bare face is a terrific way to instantly look put together (now that those are back on the menu…). Consider your back-to-work look complete after adding some earrings.
