Selena Gomez’s honest reaction to her billionaire status
Selena Gomez is immensely grateful to her followers for helping her become a billionaire through their support of her Rare Beauty brand.
Selena Gomez is understandably appreciative for Rare Beauty. Earlier this year, the makeup mogul became a billionaire, debuting on the Bloomberg Billionaire Index with a net worth of $1.3 billion, thanks to her beauty company and Hollywood success.
And, while she is grateful for reaching the milestone, she understands where the true appreciation should be directed.
“I personally think it’s distasteful to talk about money,” Selena told Entertainment Tonight at the New York Film Festival on September 30. “But I really am giving all the credit to the people who buy the products.”
She continued, “They’re the ones who made my dream come true. So I’m very honored and thrilled.”
After all, the 32-year-old enjoys managing her team at Rare Beauty, where she has the opportunity to shake up the beauty industry while also making a difference in mental health through the Rare Impact Fund.
Despite speculations, she has no plans to depart or sell the brand anytime soon. “I don’t think I’m going anywhere,” she stated at the 2024 TIME100 Summit in April.
