Supermodel Karlie Kloss, a former Victoria’s Secret Angel, is incredibly secure in her lean and toned physique. As a result, whenever she chooses to don a biкini, she really stuns!
Karlie is a statuesque 6-foot-2 and has incredibly long, slim limbs. When she was in her teens and traveling the globe for runway work, it made her one of the most in-demand models in the world. She participated in 31 runway shows at New York Fashion Week in 2008 alone for brands including Calvin Klein, Marc Jacobs, Carolina Herrera, and others, frequently in the coveted opening or closing positions.
Karlie started working for Victoria’s Secret in 2011, and in 2013 she was given the title of Angel. The supermodel took a hiatus in 2015 because she claimed the event conflicted with her studies at New York University, even though she had participated in a total of five of the lingerie brand’s renowned yearly fashion presentations. Later, she admitted that her “feminist” worries caused her to leave the company.
In July 2019, Karlie explained to British Vogue, “I made the decision to cease working with Victoria’s Secret because I didn’t believe that the image was genuinely true of who I am and the kind of message I want to portray to young women around the world about what it means to be beautiful.”
The Project Runway presenter continued, “I think that was a pivotal moment in my moving into my power as a woman, being able to create my own choices and my own narrative, whether via the companies I choose to work with, or through the image I send out to the world.
When asked what advice she would give to young women, Karlie responded, “Looking back at my late teens and early twenties, I guess I was afraid that if I said I didn’t want to do something, I might lose a job or lose my status. I didn’t miss out on any employment, though. If anything, my peers respected me more the more I used my voice to make my point.
And I earned more respect for myself,” she explained, adding, “Only now do I have the confidence to stand tall – all 6-foot-2 of me – and know the power of my voice.”
In the same interview, Karlie opened up about her October 18, 2018, wedding to longtime boyfriend, Joshua Kushner. “I am deeply ambitious and driven, and there are a lot of big things I want to do – big things. But I also want to enjoy the people I love and who love me. It’s important that I have joy in my life,” she told the publication. One of her greatest joys is being a mom. She and Josh welcomed their first child, son Levi, on March 11, 2021.
