Meghan Markle just made her first follow on her personal Instagram page

The Duchess of Sussex’s newly launched social media page has 1.9 million followers but now follows just one account.

Meghan Markle hit the “follow” button for one special Instagram page. The Duchess of Sussex, 43, unveiled a new Instagram account titled @meghan on Jan. 1, but she didn’t follow anyone on the social media platform until weeks later.

As of Feb. 19, she started following @aseverofficial, the handle for her new lifestyle brand As Ever, which was announced the day before. (However, the page for As Ever doesn’t follow Meghan back! It currently doesn’t follow any accounts but gained 644,500 followers in less than a day.)

A hover over the “About this account” on @aseverofficial reveals that the Instagram page was made in January 2024 and verified last March.

After a few years away from social media in a personal capacity, Meghan kicked off the new year by returning to Instagram.

Her first post was a video of herself running on the beach to write “2025” in the sand, and PEOPLE understands the video was filmed by Prince Harry near their Montecito, California home.

The Duchess of Sussex has since garnered an audience of 1.9 million followers on her @meghan handle, using it to share a mix of personal and professional updates.
